Too Early to start training? Meet Eli. His grandmother's dog had puppies about 5 weeks ago. According to Grandma, when Eli comes over he insists on finding the clicker as soon as he walks in the house and then he goes to the whelping box and calls "Come here, baby puppies." CLICK..... Of course, the beauty of clicker training is that it is never too early to start training, whether you're the trainer or the trainee. APDT also sponsored a writing contest for trainers. The purpose was to promote the every day dog owners who have discovered that training should be a crucial part of their life with their dog, as well as being much more fun and easy than many people may think.
